Illegal drugs seized in South Frontenac

One person has been arrested and a quantity of illegal drugs seized after the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a search warrant in South Frontenac.

The OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit executed the search warrant an address on Sydenham Road on Tuesday, Jun. 23, 2020. Police seized a quantity of suspected illegal drugs, including methamphetamine, fentanyl, ecstasy, codeine, cocaine, and other items associated with drug trafficking.

As a result, one person was charged with:

  • Five counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The name of the accused is not being released as the investigation is ongoing. The accused was later released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston at a later date to answer to the charges.
