Help make ALS ‘a thing of the past’ with an 80s dance party

When Kelly Gee approached me and asked if I’d support her fundraiser for ALS, ‘Of course’ is all I could think to say.
Here is this gal who lost her Mama, Sue, to this debilitating disease just over a year ago, and now she’s motivated and encouraged to have an event in her Mother’s memory. I was, and continue to be, so inspired by Kelly’s strength.
Two weeks ago, Kelly messaged me again. She confided in me that the event was not getting enough support, and she was convinced it was time to cancel the event in its entirety. My jaw dropped. This wasn’t an option.
I knew there was only one dude in town with enough magic to pull this together at the last minute. And unsurprisingly, Jan Murphy, was stoked to jump on board. He has a heart of gold.
But we need your help.
I’m imploring each of you to consider coming to the event, or even just buying a ticket to support.
If you feel motivated to donate to our raffle, that would be amazing. If you feel motivated to volunteer the night of the event, we’re accepting folks who want to come and help out.
On Saturday, November 16, 2019, the Let’s Make ALS a Thing of the Past – 80’s Dance Party in support of ALS Canada will take place at Matt’s Place within the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 631 at 4034. There, from 7:30 p.m. to midnight, attendees will dance the night away to all the hits from the 80s – with DJ services provided by yours truly!
Grab your legwarmers, big hair, and party spirit, and join us as we celebrate Sue and raise funds to help find treatments or a cure for ALS!
Tickets are on sale now and won’t be available at the door, so get yours now.
It doesn’t take much to be the good.
It doesn’t take a lot to make someone’s day, month, or year.
I want so much to help Kelly channel the sadness of losing her Mom into the success of raising funds and awareness for ALS Canada.
Please join us.
