Help clean up with the return of Sustainable Kingston’s Fall Pitch-In event

Sustainable Kingston, in cooperation with the City of Kingston’s Solid Waste and Public Works departments, has announced a Fall Pitch-In event on its 2023 autumn event schedule.
Taking place over the week of October 30, 2023, this will be the first fall clean up since 2019. According to a release from Sustainable Kingston, the event aims to engage hundreds of volunteers at a time when there is a fair amount of trash in our parks and public spaces.
“Fall Pitch-In is a great opportunity to get rid of that post-Halloween litter and all of the other trash that has accumulated all autumn,” said Sustainable Kingston’s Chief Operating Officer Geoff Hendry. “We’re grateful to Public Works and Solid Waste for helping us again this Fall.”
In addition to leading this event, Sustainable Kingston hopes to engage Kingston residents in a conversation about waste reduction, according to the release.
This year, individuals, schools, organizations, and businesses are invited to register online at: www.sustainablekingston.com/pitchin-2023-registration. A list of drop locations and a Pitch-In FAQs are also available at sustainablekingston.com.
Sustainable Kingston explained that yellow Pitch-In bags will be available to be picked up at the Kingston Area Recycling Centre (196 Lappan’s Lane), and at the Kingston Area Real Estate Association Office (720 Arlington Park Place). Participants who are unable to access Pitch-In bags may use their own, the organization stated.
