Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for Kingston, Odessa, Frontenac Islands, Napanee, Consecon, Picton and Sandbanks Park, with heavy rain expected tonight into Monday, and strong winds on Monday afternoon.
Total rainfall amounts of 20 to 30 mm will be possible by Monday evening, and strong southwesterly winds are also forecast to develop Monday afternoon into Monday evening. Wind gusts up to 100 km/h will be possible with the strongest winds expected along the shorelines of Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. These strong winds are expected to ease Monday night.
The winds and rain are associated with a strong low pressure system that is forecast to track across Northeastern Ontario on Monday.
There will be the potential for power outages due to the wind Monday afternoon and evening.
