Harrowsmith youth charged after taking family car without consent

A 14-year-old male youth from Harrowsmith will appear in court to face a charge after he took and drove a vehicle while unlicensed and without permission.

Officers from the Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a Harrowsmith address at approximately 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9, 2019. The complainant reported that the 14-year-old had taken a family member’s car without consent.

An investigation ensued and, as a result, the youth was arrested and charged with taking a motor vehicle without consent. The youth was released on a promise to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on in Kingston on Tuesday, Mar. 5, 2019.
