Hammer-wielding man arrested following neighbour dispute

A local man has been arrested after a dispute between neighbours led to a hammer being wielded at the victim.
On Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at approximately 6 p.m, a dispute occurred between two neighbours in a residential building in downtown Kingston. Various items were left in the hallway by the accused man, which was obstructing the entrance to the building, and the victim had asked the accused to move the items in the past.
On this date, the male victim once again requested that the items be removed, however the accused man refused and an argument began. The accused man then began approaching the victim with a hammer while aggressively wielding it in the air. The victim was able to wrestle the hammer away from the accused man, who then proceeded to leave the building.
Kingston Police were contacted, and the accused man was located and arrested outside of the building. The 40-year-old local man has been charged with assault with a weapon.
