After outgrowing their previous locations, DM Boat Sales is ready to get you onto the water for the 2023 season at their new permanent home at 106 Jack Davey Drive in Bath, Ontario.
Their new showroom, which opened in July 2022, features a variety of marine equipment including fishing/pleasure boats and pontoons just waiting for boating enthusiasts to take them home.
Next month, DM Boat Sales will be at the Quinte Sportsman Show from March 10 to 12, 2023. Pay them a visit at booth 36 to take a look at their Mirrocraft boats, Montego Bay Pontoons, and Tohatsu Outboard motors. They also offer a wide variety of boating accessories, including docks and lifts to help you get your watercraft in and out of the water safely.
Owned and operated by military veteran Darren Merritt, DM Boat Sales offers special incentives to emergency personnel such as firefighters, police officers, paramedics, correctional services, and military personnel. They also provide after-sales services with technical support, to make sure all their customers are fully satisfied with their products.
“The Quinte Show is the first show in a few years and everyone is pumped to be able to provide products for the public to get in and see,” Merritt shared, noting that safety precautions will be followed at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre at 265 Cannifton Road in Belleville.
Merritt said they carry products with the longest warranty they can, with lifetime warranties being the target. The Mirrocraft and Montego Bay boats DM Boat Sales offers are designed to withstand the rigours of hard use and will serve anglers well for years to come, he noted.
A medical discharge ended Merritt’s 20-year military career after a diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). While undergoing professional counselling, and with encouragement from his wife, he decided he would purchase a boat. Throughout the process of comparing options, completing a purchase, and after-purchase visits to the dealership, Merritt said he was comfortable enough to ask for a job at the dealership as a driver. Instead, he was offered a job in sales.
“I’d say it was probably the best thing that happened because it got me out of the house,” he said. “I had to go work boat shows and meet people. It really was the best thing that happened.”
In 2015, after working for others for 10 years, Darren and his wife, who is also ex-military, decided to start their own boat dealership, and DM Boat Sales was born.
As they continue to grow, the pair is looking for more help. Experience with small engines is a bonus, but a willingness to learn is an absolute necessity. Merritt said they are willing to train the right applicant. For more details or to apply for the position, send an email with your resume to [email protected].
If you can’t make the Quinte Sportsman Show next month, DM Boat Sales will also be at the Home Show and Small Business Showcase at the Strathcona Paper Centre, 16 McPherson Drive in Napanee, on May 13 and 14, 2023.
And be sure to check out their products at the DM Boat Sales showroom in Bath, Ontario. With boats, motors, and marine equipment on display, the growing team at DM Boat Sales takes pride in providing top-quality products at reasonable prices.
