Gala to support Lionhearts Inc charity

Lionhearts Inc., a charity that is fully local to Kingston, is gearing up for their second annual fundraising gala on Saturday, Oct. 5.
Lionhearts Inc. works to support the Kingston community in three specific ways: reclaiming surplus food from stores and restaurants that would otherwise go to waste and redistributing it to assist people facing food scarcity; hosting The Embassy, Live Music Cafe Kingston, a dry music venue for anyone who wants to hear great live music, including those who struggle with addictions; and leading F.A.S.T. Fight Against Sex Trafficking.
Jeff Stafford is one of the co-chairs of the gala event. “I am so pleased to be a part of this fundraising gala. Through the proceeds from last year’s gala, the community helped expand Lionhearts Inc.’s operations significantly. They can now reclaim over two million dollars in healthy food per year, food that is redistributed to 28 partner agencies every day. Since inception they have reclaimed over five million dollars worth of food that would have otherwise gone into the dumpster.”
For an organization that specializes in local live music, it’s no surprise that the gala will feature top-notch entertainment. Stafford’s co-host, Brad Revell, enthuses that gala guests will be impressed. “Last year we set the bar high with music by The Abrams Brothers, and we are really excited to have Emily Fennell Taylor as our music entertainment this year. She and her band will be amazing.”
The gala will take place at 6:00 p.m. at the Residence Inn by Marriott, at 7 Earl St. Tickets for individuals ($150) or for tables of 8 ($1,200) are available for purchase through the Lionhearts Inc. website. Any companies who sponsor a table will be acknowledged at the event to thank them for their support, as well as in advance through social media.
“As a business owner in Kingston, I feel I need to give back to the community in which I do business,” says Stafford. “Lionhearts Inc. is one of many great organizations here doing amazing work, and I am very happy to support them in any way I can. I place a high level of trust in their executive team, as I’ve known them for many years. They are good people!”
Revell agrees that funds raised through this gala will have a great impact in the city of Kingston. “Lionhearts Inc. brings God’s love and compassion into the city of Kingston through several projects and partnerships. I can’t wait to see what they can accomplish as they continue to grow; it’s truly inspiring.”
