Frost advisory in effect for Kingston and area
Environment Canada has issued a frost advisory for Kingston and the area as of 10:41 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, 2019.
The advisory is in effect for Kingston, Odessa, Frontenac Islands, Napanee, and Consecon, and warns that frost may damage frost-sensitive plants, such as fruit trees and vegetables.
“Temperatures are expected to drop to near or below the freezing mark tonight,” Environment Canada said in the advisory. “Take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.”
According to the national weather agency, frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.
