Frontenac Parking Lot to close temporarily beginning next week

Those who frequent the downtown core by vehicle will need to keep in mind that the municipal parking lot adjacent to the Leon’s Centre will be closed temporarily for the next two months.
The Frontenac Parking Lot, located at the corner across from the Leon’s Centre on the block of The Tragically Hip Way between Ontario Street and King Street will be closed as of Monday, Feb. 3, 2020 to allow for preparations for the 2020 Tim Hortons Brier. The Brier will take place at the Leon’s Centre from Friday, Feb. 28 to Sunday, Mar. 8, 2020, and will serve as the locations for the Brier Patch – the area where curling fans socialize and take in live entertainment – during the tournament.
During the closure of the Frontenac Parking Lot, accessible event parking spaces will be relocated to the Drury Parking Lot at the corner of Queen and King Streets, as well as along Barrack Street. The updated event parking map (below) for the duration of the closure is available here.

The City of Kingston advises that, during the 2020 Tim Hortons Brier events, the total number of accessible parking spaces will remain the same while the Frontenac Parking Lot is closed. The closure is now marked by signage at the lot, and is expected to be in place until Tuesday, Mar. 31, 2020. For more information about the Tim Horton’s Brier from the City of Kingston, click here.
