Frontenac Paramedics establish base at Woodbine Fire Station

Frontenac Paramedics will now have paramedic base at Woodbine Road Fire Station in Kingston’s West end.
The paramedics will join Kingston Fire and Rescue at the station, thanks to a new property lease arrangement between the City of Kingston and the County of Frontenac, which is responsible for overseeing Frontenac Paramedics. According to both the City of Kingston and the County of Frontenac, Frontenac Paramedics will establish the paramedic base immediately at the 905 Woodbine Road location.
“We are happy to have Frontenac Paramedics joining us at the Woodbine Fire Station. This will help ensure residents in the west-end receive fast and reliable service, when they need it most,” said Kingston Fire and Rescue Chief Shawn Armstrong.
The fire station space, previously occupied by Kingston Fire & Rescue’s mechanical division, was vacated earlier this year in anticipation of such a change. The move comes as Frontenac Paramedics relocate their west-end base, as the lease at their Justus Drive location was set to conclude at the end of the year.
Those with Frontenac Paramedics are pleased with the move and new location, Frontenac Paramedic Services Chief Gale Chevalier expressed.
“We are looking forward to moving our paramedic operations in the west-end to the Woodbine Road Fire Station, ” Chevalier said. “This will be our first co-location with Kingston Fire and Rescue, and we hope to have more opportunities [like this] in the future.”
Frontenac Paramedics has seven ambulance bases and serves approximately 150,000 residents in Kingston and Frontenac County.
