This weekend, members of the Frontenac Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Auxiliary OPP have partnered with the North Frontenac Food Bank to hold a “Stuff the Cruiser” food drive.

The event will take place on Saturday, Apr. 9, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot of Mike Deans, at 1039 Elizabeth Street, Sharbot Lake.

According to a release from the OPP, donations of all non-perishable items and cash donations will be accepted and will remain within the Central and North Frontenac communities. The cash donations are important as they are used to buy fresh food and basic hygiene products, OPP said.

Police ask the community to take the opportunity to support others by donating to your local food bank. “We thank everyone in advance as the food drive is sure to be a great success,” OPP said.

UPDATE (Thursday, Apr 14, 2022):

The drive raised over $1,600 in cash and a value of $1,400 in groceries. The OPP and North Frontenac Food Bank would like to thank the community for all their generous donations.
