Frontenac Community Futures Development Corporation rebrands

Frontenac Community Futures Development Corporation (CFDC), a non-profit organization that provides business advice and loan services to help diversify and strengthen the local economy, has been rebranded. It is now known as Frontenac Business Services, and with the new name comes a new website: frontenacbusiness.ca.
“For nearly two decades, our organization has played an important role in helping launch and grow businesses across the county,” said Executive Director of Frontenac Business Services, Anne Prichard. “We’re recognized as a nimble, non-traditional funding source, but that’s only part of our unique mission and mandate. Our new name better reflects our commitment to providing both business advice and loan services that nurture and support the entrepreneurial spirit.”
Initially established in 2003, Frontenac CFDC had an aim to advance community economic development and small business growth across North, Central and South Frontenac and the Frontenac Islands. Frontenac Business Services calls itself a one-stop-shop for business financing, free advice, counselling and support.
“One of our greatest strengths,” explained Prichard, “is connecting new and existing business owners to the right resources and people.”
The organization embarked on its rebranding exercise last year as a means to better promote awareness, understanding and support for services and programs provided to individuals, businesses and community groups.
“Our best work happens when we provide coaching and advisory services to help businesses craft a winning business model and achieve long-term success and residency in the county,” Chair of Frontenac Business Services, Betty Hunter said. “Loans are simply one tool to help achieve those goals.”
On Thursday, Apr. 22, 2021, the Township of South Frontenac announced a partnership with Frontenac Business Services to administer a grant program that will provide up to $2,500 to qualifying South Frontenac businesses on a 50/50 cost share basis to purchase and adopt digital tools, technologies and equipment that will enable small businesses to modernize or pivot for greater success during and after the pandemic.
