Frontenac Business Awards recognize local business operators in Frontenac County

Frontenac County announced their second annual Business Award winners at the Frontenac Business Retreat and Awards in Parham. On Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, at RKY Camp in Central Frontenac, five of the 94 nominated businesses were recognized with an award after a casual afternoon conference and networking reception.
According to a press release from Frontenac County, the event included an afternoon of campfire chats about tourism branding, farmers markets, business supports, and a panel discussion about business partnership-building.
“The awards ceremony capped off a great day-long retreat event attended by almost 70 Frontenac County business operators and members of the economic development community across Frontenac County and the Townships of South Frontenac, North Frontenac, Central Frontenac, and Frontenac Islands,” said Matt Mills, Communications Officer for Frontenac County.
The annual Business Awards nominations opened in August and closed on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2023. Ninety-four nominations were submitted through EngageFrontenac.ca by residents from all four Frontenac Townships. Some businesses drew multiple nominations, the County expressed.
“I want to extend my congratulations to each of the award recipients for this well-earned recognition,” said Debbi Miller, Frontenac County Community Development Officer. “Each of those businesses and the people who run them stand out as leading examples in the Frontenac business community. Thank you for your leadership and contributions to commerce in our region. Congratulations also to everyone who was nominated this year.”
Frontenac County said that the award itself was designed by Tracy Bamford of Water’s Edge Pottery in Parham. It is a pottery lantern showcasing the various elements of the Frontenac brand.
