Free webinar helps plan for serious illness and its effects

A local organization is hosting a free webinar on Wednesday, April 14th, 2021, in regards to being prepared for serious illness.
“The Global COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need to prepare for such an unexpected event,” the Plan Well Guide event posting states. “That preparation can take many forms, but for the purpose of this webinar, we will focus specifically on what medical, legal and financial plans should the average Kingston individual have in place in the event they develop a serious illness, like COVID-19 pneumonia, and become incapacitated and unable to function for themselves.”
The event is will take place over zoom from 12:00 p.m. ET to 1:30 p.m. ET and is hosted by the founder of Plan Well Guide, Dr. Daren Heyland, who is also a critical care doctor at Kingston Health Sciences Centre and a Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology at Queen’s University. Event pre-registration is required.
In addition to the health side of serious illness planning, the webinar also plans to cover the legal issues that can arise. For that, attendees will hear from lawyer Carolyn Knight.
“Carolyn practices in the areas of real property, wills and estates law, and family law,” the eventbrite listing states. “Her practice regularly involves the purchase, sale and financing of residential and commercial property.”
Finally, wealth advisor Anthony Stallone rounds out the trio of presenters. He plans to cover topics such as insurance planning, investment allocation and emergency planning.
