Four arrested, firearms seized after warrants executed in Bancroft

Officers from multiple Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) teams have seized a total of 10 firearms as the result of two search warrants executed at two residences in Bancroft.
According to the OPP, members of the Community Street Crime Unit, Emergency Response Team, Bancroft Crime Unit, and the Bancroft OPP Detachment executed the search warrants on the morning of Thursday, Apr. 20, 2023. The search involved the seizure of the 10 firearms, as well as a crossbow and a large quantity of ammunition.
Initially, three people were charged as a result:
Donald Vautour, 63 years of age, was arrested and charged with eight counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, and Lisa Duynisveld, 40 years of age, as well as Irving Whyte, 46 years of age, were each charged with one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm. All three of the accused individuals reside in Bancroft, the OPP disclosed on Friday, Apr. 21, 2023.
Today, Tuesday, Apr. 25, 2023, the OPP shared that another individual has been charged in connection with the investigation. Glendon Thibadeau, 45 years of age, has also been charged with one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm. Thibadeau is also a Bancroft resident, according to police.
“All of the individuals were released on an undertaking to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on May 9, 2024,” the OPP said.
