Five individuals arrested after OPP execute search warrant in Greater Napanee

Five males are facing multiple charges after Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers executed a search warrant in Greater Napanee last week.

On Thursday, Aug. 10, 2023, a search warrant was issued for a residence on Bridge Street East, in Napanee. According to a release from the Lennox and Addington (L&A) Detachment, the warrant was executed by members of the East Region Community Street Crime Unit.

Police said that upon entry, the five accused parties were located and arrested. Police seized 565 grams of suspected cocaine, brass knuckles, $7,000 Canadian currency, and scales. All parties were transported to the Napanee detachment where they were held pending a bail hearing. 

As a result of this investigation, L&A County OPP has laid the following charges:

Brock Alkenbrack, age 27, of Deseronto:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon

Mark Austin, age 57, of Napanee:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Two counts of failure to comply with a probation order

Tracy Carroll, age 43, of Napanee:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon

Patrick Macdonald, age 42, of Roblin:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon

Richard Palmer, age 40, of Tyendinaga:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon

According to the release, all accused were held for a bail hearing and were remanded into custody. They are all scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee at a later date.
