UPDATE: First degree murder charge laid in Highway 15 homicide

Update (Friday, June 4, 2021):
The OPP have released the identity of the victim found deceased in a residence on Highway 15 on June 1, 2021. Colin Gill, 44 years old, of Leeds and The Thousand Islands Township was found at the scene where two other people sustained serious injury.
The accused, Jay Slade, is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on June 4, 2021.

The Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say they have now charged an individual in connection with a homicide near Seeley’s Bay. On June 1, 2021 at about 4:30 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call at a residence on Highway 15. Officers located a deceased male at the location. OPP say two other people sustained serious injuries and were transported to hospital by Leeds & Grenville County Paramedics.
Jay Slade, 36 years old, of no fixed address has been arrested and charged with:
First degree murder – Criminal Code 235(1)
Indignity to a dead body – Criminal Code 182(b)
Assault causing bodily harm – Criminal Code 267(b) – two counts
OPP say the investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario (OCCO) and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OFPS), the OPP Leeds County Crime Unit and East Region Forensic Identification Services (FIS). The identification of the victim is not being released at this point.
