Fill Santa’s sleigh to support Kingston Youth Shelter

The community is invited to help fill Santa’s sleigh with warm hats, socks, gloves, toilet paper, paper towels, non-perishable food and cash over the next 10 days, all in support of the Kingston Youth Shelter (KYS).
Sponsored by Gino’s Pizza & Spaghetti, donations will be accepted at all locations of Gino’s Pizza: Kingston (Division Street at Concession Street), Amherstview, Harrowsmith, and Sydenham, as well as Pisano’s Downtown and West End. Santa’s sleigh will make a stop at each location as well.
According to organizers, donations will be accepted at all locations throughout the drive, not just when the big red sleigh makes an appearance. Everyone making a donation will be entered into a multi draw giveaway from each location to win 10 free Kingston Frontenacs tickets and multiple pizza parties.

Noele Murano, owner of Gino’s said that he feels strongly about giving back to the community, and he wants these donations to “go somewhere it really helps.” This is the second year he has planned this community event to help support the efforts of KYS, according to the Youth Shelter.
“This non-profit agency is near and dear to our hearts, and we need your help to fill our sleigh,” Murano expressed on social media.
Those with the Youth Shelter explained that the value of donations far exceeds the monetary value of those items.
“Last year was overwhelming, the volume of donations delivered to the shelter. The donations made such an impact on the youth accessing our services over the holiday season,” said Anne Brown, Director of KYS. “Many do not have positive thoughts about the holidays and the donation of gifts, food, and money goes a long way in helping to make new memories for them.”
Those with Gino’s/Pisanos will be delivering the donated items and cash donations to Kingston Youth Shelter on Christmas Eve day.
