Fill-An-Ambulance and help support Partners in Mission Food Bank

On Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023, Frontenac Paramedics will be stationed at FreshCo for their 12th annual Fill-an-Ambulance Food Drive to benefit clients of Partners in Mission Food Bank.

Frontenac Paramedics volunteers will be at the store from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. collecting cash and non-perishable food items. Bring your donations or purchase FreshCo-supplied pre-assembled bags of food inside the store at 2327 Princess Street.

“Prices for everything have risen sharply over the last couple of years,” said Frontenac Paramedic Lise-Anne Lepage-McBain. “It can be especially difficult for some of our friends, neighbours, and patients to afford the quality food they need day-to-day, let alone to make the holidays special. I hope you’ll come see us at FreshCo on Saturday. Your donations will make a huge difference.”

According to a release from Frontenac County, this is the 12th year Frontenac Paramedics volunteers have partnered with FreshCo and Partners in Mission to host the Fill-an-Ambulance event. Matt Mills, Communications Officer for the County, shared that paramedics collected 2,236 lbs of food and $1,119.80 for Partners in Mission last year.

“Partners in Mission Food Bank does not receive government or agency funding and relies on our community,” said Partners in Mission Executive Director, Dan Irwin. “Groups like Frontenac Paramedics and their Fill-an-Ambulance food drive will help to feed our 80-plus Kingston-area households in need each day. We would like to extend a huge thank-you to Frontenac Paramedics and their families for the work that they put into this day. We would also like to thank FreshCo and their clients for their support and donations.”
