Festive light contest raises funds for parent councils

The Module de l’Acadie parent council is pleased to announce an exciting first-time fundraiser just in time for the holiday season.
The Holiday Lights Contest Fundraiser will see families, friends and neighbours of participating west end schools either decorating their homes for judging, or taking a tour of the lit-up homes and voting on their favourites.
James Bonham-Carter, Principal of Frontenac Secondary School is asking families from Module de l’Acadie, Frontenac Secondary School, J.R. Henderson P.S., and Welborne Avenue P.S. to participate in this new fundraiser to support each school’s parent council.
Interested households may participate in the Holiday Lights Contest Fundraiser in one (or more) of the following ways:
1. Pay $10.00 to be a contestant in the Holiday Light Contest – decorate your house and submit your address by Sunday, Dec. 6 (you do not have to be Clark Griswold to be a contestant – they are looking for participants in order to create a tour); or
2. Pay $5.00 to be a voter in the Holiday Light Contest – on or after Monday, Dec. 7 you will get a voter identification number and a list of the participating addresses (these tickets will be available until the end of December); or
3. Donate to the Module de l’Acadie, J.R. Henderson P.S. or Welborne Avenue P.S. Parent Council.
Families may purchase as many voting identification codes as they would like so that each person in the family can vote on their favorite displays.
So far, 33 homes are registered to participate in the holiday lights tour, and 167 voters have signed up to take the tour. Voting tickets will continue to be available throughout December.
Being a voter will require you to plan a route for viewing the decoration displays, get out with your family to tour them all, pick your favorites and submit your survey together with your individual voter identification number.
Who can participate?
Families and teachers at Module de l’Acadie, Frontenac Secondary School, J.R. Henderson P.S., and Welborne Avenue P.S., along with their friends and neighbours, are invited to participate in any of the ways described above.
