Fatal collision on Highway 15

On Monday, Feb. 17, 2020 at approximately 10:45 p.m. the Frontenac detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, along with Kingston Fire & Rescue and Kingston Paramedics, responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 15 between Sunbury Road and Sutherland Drive in the City of Kingston.

A passenger vehicle heading northbound on Highway 15 collided with a southbound pick-up truck. The driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene. There was no one else in the vehicle. The driver and passenger of the pick-up truck were not injured.

The deceased has been identified as Percival Logan French, 19 years-old of Elgin, Ontario.

The OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Collision Reconstructionists were called to the scene to assist with the investigation.

Highway 15 traffic was detoured at Sunbury Road and Sutherland Drive for several hours, but has since reopened.

  • Other wise known as Logan French he was my father’s cousins son so he was my family I only met him once at my Grampys funeral and it was very brief I wish I could have talked to him longer that day in October because that was the last and only time I saw him the only thing he said to me was I’m sorry for your loss and shook my hand I didn’t even know that he existed until then so I lost a family member yesterday
