#ygkChallenge: Vote for Finalists in Kingston Blooms
The #ygkChallenge is an ongoing series where we dare you to be different, resolve to be better, and or do something awesome in support of our beloved community. Each week, Kingstonist establishes a new, ambitious or quirky goal, encouraging you to step out of your comfort zone and do something great, and hopefully a little out of the ordinary. By taking part in this community-wide initiative, we hope to make Kingston (and the world) a slightly better place to live, work and play.
This week’s #ygkChallenge encourages you to:
Vote for your Favourite Finalists in Kingston Blooms. A few weeks back, I challenged you to nominate your neighbour, or someone you’ve spotted during your daily commute, whose gardening skills deserved to be celebrated in this year’s Kingston Blooms. Nominating deserving green thumbs helps the city “recognize the efforts of those who put their hearts and souls into lining our streets and neighbourhoods with gorgeous plants and flowers”. The longlist of beautiful gardens has been released, and you can now view and vote for your favourites in categories such as: Best Kept Large Garden, Best Kept Small Commercial Garden, Most Beautiful Container, Junior Kingston Blooms and more. Voting isn’t open for much longer, so get your picks in before tomorrow night. Following the tally of online votes registered, the top 3 vote-getters in each category will be paid a special visit by judges who will determine the final ranking. Check out all the fantastic local garden and vote here!
Join us in completing this week’s #ygkchallenge by liking it on Facebook and/or re-Tweeting it on Twitter. By liking and sharing, you’re not only committing to doing something great, but you’re also helping us spread the word and hopefully encouraging others to participate.
