Environment Canada issues snowfall warning for Kingston area

In the afternoon of Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for the Kingston area, advising of a total accumulation near 20 cm.
This comes after a special weather statement was issued earlier in the day advising that significant snowfall is likely Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning.
“A Texas low tracking northeastward is expected to bring snow to the area late Wednesday afternoon until Thursday morning,” the national weather agency said in the warning, which is in effect for Kingston, Odessa, Frontenac Islands, Napanee, Consecon, Picton and Sandbanks Park.
“Snowfall accumulations of 20 cm are expected. Higher accumulations, up to 25 cm, are possible,” the warning continues.
Environment Canada advises drivers to be prepared to adjust their driving with changing road conditions.
“Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.”
