Those who were waiting for some relief from the heat and humidity previously scheduled for today are going to have to wait a little longer.

Environment Canada has issued another special weather statement, following one from earlier in the week, which forecasted a cold front moving into Kingston and the area on Friday, Jul. 5, 2019. Now, the national weather agency is advising the hot, humid conditions we’re currently experiencing will continue through Saturday, Jul. 6, 2019.

“A relatively hot and humid airmass will remain in place into Saturday. Daytime maximum temperatures into the low 30s with humidex values near 40 can be expected this afternoon over some areas. Overnight minimum temperatures will remain near or above 20 degrees tonight,” Environment Canada said in its most recent special weather statement for the area.

The statement is in effect for Kingston, Odessa, Frontenac Islands, Napanee, Consecon, Picton, and Sandbanks Park.

“On Saturday, temperatures will remain in the upper 20s with humidex values in the mid to upper thirties, however with the passage of a cold front, cooler temperatures and lower humidity is expected for the remainder of the weekend.”

Stay hydrated and limit sun exposure during this time.
