The weather alert, which is in effect for the Kingston, Odessa, Frontenac Islands, Napanee, Consecon, Picton, and Sandbanks Park areas, was issued at 10:25 a.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 29, 2022, and states that freezing rain is possible in the coming day, beginning in the afternoon on Wednesday, Mar. 30, 2022, and stretching into the evening.

With the risk of freezing rain, the national weather agency warned that untreated surfaces, such as roads, parking lots, and walkways, may become slippery.

“A mix of snow, ice pellets and freezing rain will be possible Wednesday afternoon and early Wednesday evening,” Environment Canada said. “At this time, there remains considerable uncertainty regarding the timing and amount of freezing rain.”
