Enjoy outdoor festivities and ‘Spring into Summer’ at Lake Ontario Park

Victoria Day weekend is nearly upon us, and the City of Kingston Special Events team has been hard at work preparing to celebrate the unofficial kick-off to summer.

According to a release from the City, area residents can shake off the cold and ‘Spring into Summer’ on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at a fun-filled community event, presented by Utilities Kingston. Plan to visit Lake Ontario Park (920 King Street West) on Saturday, May 21 between 1 p.m. and 9 p.m. to take in family-friendly entertainment, activities and food. And stay for the fireworks finale which will explode with colour at 9 p.m.!

The City provided the following details and schedule:

Daytime Activities between 1 and 6 p.m.

  • Rock Climbing Wall
  • Interactive Play System
  • Inflatable Toddler Zone
  • 50-foot Inflatable Obstacle Course
  • 19-foot Mega Slide
  • Portable Bumper Cars
  • Inflatable Tippy Ladder and other games and inflatables!
  • Utilities Kingston Water Buggy and water bottle giveaways (until supplies last)
  • Local Food Trucks
  • Face painting and glitter tattoos
  • Splash Pad – officially open for the season (weather permitting)

Day-Stage Entertainment

  • 1:30 – 2 p.m. – Kingston Circus Arts performance
  • 2:30 – 3 p.m. – Summery Storytime with the Kingston Frontenac Public Library
  • 3:30 – 4 p.m. – Kingston Circus Arts performance
  • 4:30 – 5 p.m. – Traditional dances performed by the Kingston Malayali Association
  • 5:30 – 6 p.m. – Japanese drumming performance by Kings Don Taiko

Music Line-Up

  • 6 p.m. – The Celtic Kitchen Party
  • 7 p.m. – Tianna Woods
  • 8 p.m. – Mauricio and Latinbeat Band

9 p.m. Fireworks Finale!
