A woman sleeping on the couch a downtown residence had a rude awakening when her daughter apparently went into a fit of rage.
On Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, the accused woman – the victim’s daughter – angrily approached her mother who was sleeping on the couch at approximately 4:45 a.m., according to a press release from Kingston Police.
The daughter began stabbing at the victim with a kitchen knife, and the victim suffered minor cuts as she woke up and fended off her daughter. When the victim got to her feet, the accused daughter dropper the knife, walked to her room, and called police to report the attack, Police said.
Responding officers found the mother and daughter both still in the residence and the victim declined medical attention for her minor injuries. The 60-year-old daughter was arrested and is charged with assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
