Early morning collision damages downtown buildings
An early morning collision near the intersection of Princess St and Montreal St has left two downtown Kingston storefronts with significant damage.
Kingston Police, Frontenac Paramedics and Kingston Fire & Rescue responded to the 2-vehicle collision, which occurred shortly before 6 a.m.
At least one of the vehicles struck the facade of the building occupied by Windmills Restaurant and Dollarama, damaging both storefronts and requiring them to be condoned off as a precaution. A witness said that he drove by and saw both vehicles in contact with the building. A fire hydrant was also severely damaged in the collision. The extent of injuries is not yet known. The investigation continues and the exact cost of damages has not been released.
