Drug-fueled incident leads to arrest for Kingston man

A local man was arrested and charged after he damaged property and caused a disruption at an apartment building in central Kingston after consuming crystal methamphetamine.

At approximately 10:22 p.m. on Wednesday, Apr. 3, 2019, the accused man entered the lobby of the apartment building armed with a club and proceeded to smash glass out of the doors in the lobby. In the process, the accused man suffered a cut to his foot.

Responding officers spoke with the accused man, who indicated that he had been consuming crystal methamphetamine and had been in a delusional state. According to Kingston Police, security video footage of inside the lobby confirmed that the accused man had entered the lobby alone and had been yelling to himself.

The 39-year-old Kingston man was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000.
