Driving into house on Wolfe Island leads to impaired driving charge
A woman from Meaford, Ont. has been charged after her impaired driving led to a not-so-safe-and-quiet Monday night on Wolfe Island.
Officers with the Leeds and the Thousand Islands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested the woman after she collided with the house at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 14, 2019. OPP officers were advised of the motor vehicle collision, which saw the woman drive into the house on Road 96 of Wolfe Island. The ensuing investigation found the female driver, who was then arrested and charged for impaired driving.
Kristen Johnson, 25, of Meaford, Ont. is charged with impaired driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in her blood. Johnson is scheduled to answer to those charges at the Ontario Court of Justice (Provincial Division) in Kingston on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019.
The owners of the residence were uninjured, however a passenger in the car sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital in Kingston.
