Driver who struck rock cut facing impaired driving charges

Officers of the Sharbot Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 7 in Central Frontenac Township where a vehicle had struck a rock cut.

Just before 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 20, 2021, OPP arrived at the scene of the collision. According to a release from OPP, dated Monday, Aug. 23, 2021, an investigation of the crash scene indicated that the motor vehicle left the road and struck a rock cut. The driver was taken into custody and transported to the Sharbot Lake Detachment.  

Filip Kedzior, age 31 of Hamilton has been charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Kedzior had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. They were released on an Undertaking and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston in September 2021. Kedzior is responsible for all related fees and fines.
