Driver charged after collision damages residential fence

As a snowfall warning from Environment Canada delivered on its promise with snow accumulating overnight, two drivers found themselves in a winter collision on the morning of Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023.

According to Kingston Police, the collision occurred just before 9:10 a.m. that day, in the area of Edgar Street and Taylor Kidd Boulevard Drive, near the intersection of Taylor Kidd Boulevard and Centennial Drive. Two vehicles were involved in the collision, which resulted in extensive damages when one of the vehicles – a pickup truck – barrelled through a wooden fence and into a residential yard. Although no injuries were reported, the driver of the truck was charged with careless driving, Kingston Police said in response to Kingstonist inquiries.

Throughout the snowfall, police responded to approximately 11 motor vehicle collisions. The snowfall warning issued by Environment Canada for the Kingston area has now ended.
