Driver arrested after fleeing scene of single vehicle collision

A Kingston resident has been arrested and charged after fleeing the scene of a collision that involved only the vehicle that resident was driving.
The vehicle crashed at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, 2023, on Clogg’s Road, a dead-end street off of Creekford Road just west of Gardiners Road and south of Highway 401 in Kingston’s west end. It appeared the driver, headed northbound on Clogg’s Road, lost control of the vehicle at the sharp curve in the road, where the vehicle left the roadway and ended up in a ditch. The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene of the incident.

Kingston Police, Kingston Fire and Rescue, and Frontenac Paramedic Services were all sent to the site of the collision and, according to police, “through investigation,” officers were able to “identify and locate the driver in a nearby area.”
The 29-year-old Kingston resident was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, police confirmed the following morning. The driver also had their licence automatically suspended for 90 days, and may face further suspension if convicted. Their vehicle was also towed and impounded for seven days. The driver will be responsible for all related fees and fines.
