Division St A&W closed due to COVID-19
An A&W restaurant in Kingston has closed as a precaution after an employee informed restaurant management that they had received a positive test result for COVID-19.
“We closed yesterday for a deep-clean after an employee told us they got a positive test result,” a staff member of the restaurant at 1185 Division St confirmed on the morning of Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020.
The restaurant did not disclose when the employee last worked at the restaurant.
The closure at A&W comes after two other local fast-food restaurants, a McDonalds at the Kingston Centre, and one in downtown Kingston, declared positive cases earlier in the week. The latter restaurant, on Princess St, is now the subject of a declared outbreak by KFL&A Public Health.
Kingston has seen a quick rise of COVID-19 cases over the past week, with 26 active cases as of Friday, Nov. 13, 2020.
