Deseronto woman wanted on warrant also charged with drug trafficking

Members Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) ended up laying charges in addition to arresting a woman wanted on outstanding warrant yesterday.

According to the OPP, officers with the L&A OPP’s Community Street Crime Unit located the woman as she was “exiting a residence on Main Street in Deseronto” just after 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 30, 2024. After the officers arrested the woman, a search of her person was carried out, during which police found suspected drugs and related paraphernalia. The OPP reported the following items were seized:

  • Approximately 18 grams of suspected fentanyl
  • Two grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine
  • 24 “assorted” suspected hydromorphone pills
  • A needle with suspected crystal methamphetamine
  • Digital scales
  • Currency

Today, Wednesday, Apr. 1, 2024, the OPP reported that as a result of that investigation, 36-year-old Ruby Pringle was charged with:

  • Two counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
  • Possession of the proceeds of property obtained by crime with a value under $5,000

According to police, Pringle was held to attend a bail hearing, where she was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee at a later date and released from custody.
