CSC seize package of contraband at Bath Institution

A package containing contraband and unauthorized items was seized at Bath Institution, a medium security federal institution, on Tuesday, Apr. 12, 2022.

According to a release from the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC), dated Wednesday, Apr. 20, 2022, the package was seized “as the result of the vigilance of staff members” and included 130 grams of tobacco, 128 grams of cannabis, and cell phones.

“The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) has measures in place to prevent contraband and unauthorized items from entering its institutions in order to help ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone,” the national correctional authority said in a release. “CSC also works in partnership with the police to take action against those who attempt to introduce contraband and/or unauthorized items into correctional institutions.”
