CSC seize over $30K of drugs at Collins Bay Institution

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) has seized several packages containing a quantity of drugs intended to make their way inside Collins Bay Institution.

According to CSC, the packages were seized on the perimeter of the multi-security facility “as the result of the vigilance of staff members” on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021.

The drugs found in this seizure were marijuana, shatter, and crystal methamphetamine, and the total estimated institutional value of this seizure was $32,720, according to CSC.

“The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) has measures in place to prevent contraband and unauthorized items from entering its institutions in order to help ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone,” the national correctional authority said in a release. “CSC also works in partnership with the police to take action against those who attempt to introduce contraband and/or unauthorized items into correctional institutions.”
