CSC reports death of an inmate from Bath Institution

An inmate from Bath Institution has died of apparent natural causes while in the custody of Correctional Service Canada (CSC).

According to CSC, the inmate, Clifford Chippier, 77, died on Monday, Jul. 7, 2019. At the time of his death, Chippier had been serving an indeterminate sentence for sexual assault and buggery or bestiality since June 5, 1992.

The inmate’s next of kin have been notified of his death. As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, CSC will review the circumstances of this death, and police and the Regional Coroner have been notified.
