CSC reports death at Regional Treatment Centre

According to Correctional Service Canada (CSC), an inmate from the Regional Treatment Centre at Millhaven Institution has died while in their custody of apparent natural causes. This is the second death so far this month at the Regional Treatment Centre.
Clifford Beaucage, 72 years of age, died on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021, CSC said in a press release dated Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021.
At the time of his death, Mr. Beaucage had been serving an indeterminate sentence for attempted murder, assault, robbery, and manslaughter since his sentence commenced on September 26, 1985.
Beaucage’s next of kin have been notified of his death.
CSC will review the circumstances surrounding this death, as they do in all cases involving the death of an inmate. As per CSC policy, the police and coroner have been notified.
