CSC report inmate death at Millhaven Regional Treatment Centre

An inmate from the Regional Treatment Centre at Millhaven Institution has died while in the custody of Correctional Service Canada (CSC).

According to the CSC, Robert Ramm died on Thursday, Jul. 7, 2022. He was 81 years old and passed away from apparent natural causes. Ramm had been serving a sentence of 39 years, 4 months and 15 days, which began on January 26, 1987, for aggravated sexual assault.

His next of kin have been notified, CSC stated.

In a media release dated Friday, Jul. 8, 2022, CSC reported that, as in all cases involving the death of an inmate, CSC will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
