Kingston Police seek public assistance to locate driver in fatal hit-and-run

Kingston Police are looking for the public’s assistance to identify and locate the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision on Days Rd on Thursday night.

On Mar. 18, 2021 at approximately 8:17 p.m., Kingston Police received a call for assistance in the area of Days Road near Hyde Street in Kingston’s west end. Police say they arrived on scene to find that a 67-year-old female pedestrian had been stuck on Days Road by a motor vehicle and, as a result of the collision, had succumbed to her injuries. 

Police say that the vehicle that had been involved in the collision failed to remain at the scene to render any form of assistance to the fatally injured female victim. 

The area of Days Road near Hyde Street was closed off to traffic until approximately 1:00 a.m. on Friday, Mar. 19, 2021 as Traffic Safety Unit Collision Reconstructionists investigated the collision scene.

Police say that through further investigation, they have determined that the suspect vehicle involved appears to be a 2007-2015 Nissan Rogue. This vehicle would likely have damage to the front passenger wheel area.

As this is an ongoing investigation, anyone with information pertaining to this incident or who may have information in regards to the driver or vehicle involved in the collision, is asked to please contact the Kingston Police Criminal Investigations Unit at 613-549-4660.

Additionally, anyone who may have been driving in the area of Days Road, Front Road, and Bath Road at the time of the collision who may have dash cam video footage is asked to please contact police. 

Those with information can also provide tips anonymously by calling the Kingston Police general number 613-549-4660 ext. 0 and asking to remain anonymous.
