Crash leads to impaired driving charges for Napanee man

Provincial Police in Lennox and Addington County have laid impaired driving charges on a Napanee man after police responded to a single-vehicle collision on May 9, 2021.

Police were called to the scene of the collision at County Road 41 and McCutcheon Road in Greater Napanee at approximately 9:30 a.m. on the morning of the 9th.

The investigation showed that the driver lost control of their vehicle, rolled over before coming to stop in the ditch. Police say the driver was showing signs of impairment and was then arrested and brought to detachment. The driver refused to complete testing from the Drug Recognition Expert.

Lennox & Addington County OPP have charged 26-year-old Tyson Stevenson of Greater Napanee with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Failure or refusal to comply with demand.

Stevenson was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on May 25, 2021. His license was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
