COVID-19 outbreak declared at St. Martha Catholic School in Kingston

Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington (KFL&A) Public Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at St. Martha Catholic School, where there are currently five active cases of the virus.

The outbreak was officially declared on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021, according to data from Public Health. The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board (ALCDSB) does not provide the dates cases have been detected at its schools on its listing of active COVID-19 cases, however, that listing states there are only four cases of the virus at the school.

According to the ALCDSB, there are currently 21 active cases of COVID-19 within the Board outside of its current active outbreaks, two of which are not within KFL&A. Thirteen schools within KFL&A are currently enduring outbreaks, according to Public Health. The ALCDSB lists seven active outbreaks currently, however, St. Martha Catholic School is not listed as an active outbreak by the Board currently.
