COVID-19 case detected at LaSalle Intermediate and Secondary School

A student at LaSalle Intermediate and Secondary School tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, Mar. 29, 2021, according to the Limestone District School Board (LDSB).
The Board said that Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington (KFL&A) Public Health has been notified of the case, and that it has been determined that this case poses no risk to staff or students.
“As such, no cohorts will be required to isolate at this time, and the school will remain open,” LDSB said in a press release the same day.
The Board said that instances when a positive case in a school poses no risk to the school include:
- The case is learning or teaching virtually and has not been in the school
- The case was already isolating and not attending school because they were previously identified as a close contact of a case
- The case was not present at the school when they were infectious
All cases in schools must be reported locally and provincially.
“We are sharing this information with you to ensure you have accurate information. No further information will be released to maintain privacy,” the Board said.
