Contraband items seized at Collins Bay Institution maximum security unit

Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is crediting the vigilance of staff members of the seizure of a package containing contraband items at Collins Bay Institution.
According to CSC, the package was seized at approximately 6:40 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 3, 2018 on the perimeter of the maximum security unit at the Institution. Among the contraband and unauthorized items seized were: two cell phones, two cell phone chargers and a charging block, 83.3 grams of tobacco, and 83.3 grams of marijuana. The estimated institutional value of the seizure is $11,000, CSC said.
Police have been notified and the Institution is investigating.
