Confirmed COVID-19 case at Kingston’s The Spot Nightclub

Dr. Piotr Oglaza, Medical Officer of Health at KFL&A Public Health has confirmed a COVID-19 positive case at The Spot Nightclub, located at 155 Division Street in Kingston.
“KFL&A Public Health recommends that individuals who attended The Spot Nightclub on Sunday, October 31 from 11:00 p.m. to Monday, November 1 at 1:00 a.m. to self-monitor for symptoms for 10 days,” the agency advised in a release.
KFL&A Public Health officials also recommend that any individuals affected by this exposure get tested on or after seven days from the exposure date, that being November 7, 2021.
KFL&A Public Health said that it is releasing the information to the public because it has been unable to do full contact tracing on the potential exposure. “As part of the COVID-19 case management and contact tracing process, KFL&A Public Health follows up with close contacts of individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19,” KFL&A Public Health said. “If the contact tracing team are unable to identify close contacts of an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19, a public release may be issued to reach those contacts.”
In recent months, The Spot Nightclub has been the subject of several allegations that it was contravening Reopening Ontario Act regulations by allowing patrons to go unmasked. Visits by Kingston Police following those complaints found no violations.
