Collision in Loyalist Township leads to impaired driving charges
Officers responding to a single vehicle collision where a car had reportedly entered a swamp ended up laying three charges related to impaired driving.
Officers with the Lennox and Addington County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report on Sunday, May 26, 2019. Around 12:30 a.m. that day, police attended County Road 6 in Loyalist Township, where the vehicle in question had gone into a swamp.
The accused driver, Christy Slate, 26, is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, having open liquor in the vehicle, and a novice driver’s violation.
No injuries were reported as a result of the collision. Slate is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee at a later date.
