Here is a list of some of the events happening in Kingston to commemorate Climate Strike Week:

Dianne Saxe on Climate and Carbon Pricing, at St. Lawrence College

The event will start at Market Square with chants and speakers such as Dianne Saxe, ex-Environmental Commissioner of Ontario. Followed by a half-hour funeral march for the Earth. Marchers are invited to wear black and carry a tombstone sign mourning the death of something that the climate crisis has or will take from them. Then, back in Market Square, there will be more speakers and a colourful celebration of hope, involving music from local bands.

Wireless Innovations: Effects on Human Health – This event is co-organized by the IEEE and several faculties at Queen’s including Engineering and Health Sciences. Dr. Pall and Dr. Miller will be delivering a lecture.
The talks will be held in the Kinesiology and Health Studies Building, Room 101. This event is open to the general public.

This free half day conference features Betty-Anne Howard, Nick Lorroway and David Knowles as they share information on ways you can use your money more consciously to make a more positive impact on the world. Topics include social impact investing, divestment from fossil fuels and making an impact through conscious everyday choices.

The film reveals that glittering gold has a dark shadow. It engages with engineers, scientists, and Fair-Trade advocates who work with miners to tackle gold’s worst environmental and social problems.
