The City of Kingston will offer physically-distanced swimming lessons at the Outdoor Aqua Park, 303 York Street, beginning Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2020.

Registration opens on Thursday, Jul. 23, at noon for a number of classes.   Browse available options now at CityofKingston.ca/PLAY.

The outdoor classes will be taking COVID-19 precautions to keep participants safe.

These precautions include:

  • Questionnaire screening of participants prior to being admitted. Swimmers are asked to arrive 10 minutes early.
  • Lessons will be low ratio and taught at a distance by qualified instructors. Preschool classes up to Swim Kids Level 4 will be taught with only one parent or guardian in the water. Designated viewing space will be very limited to maintain physical distancing requirements.
  • Limited equipment will be used and will be sanitized between each use.
  • Swimmers and participating parents will be asked to enter and exit the facility with their bathing suits on and to follow posted signage and staff direction regarding use of the pool.

Semi-private lessons are available for those in the same household or social circle who are at a comparable swim level. To change to semi-private lessons, please call 613-546-4291 ext. 1800 after securing your private lesson spot.

If your preferred class is full, be sure to add your name to the waitlist as spots often open up.
